DAY 01 – PARO ARRIVAL – THIMPU
Meet & Greet at Paro International Airport on your arrival. Then proceed to the Capital City of Bhutan – Thimphu. Check-in to your hotel. Spend the rest of the day in leisure or exploring the city on your own. Overnight stay at Thimphu.
DAY 02 – THIMPHU SIGHTSEEING
Today after breakfast go out for Local Sightseeing of Thimpu. Visit the following places
Kuensel Phodrang-Buddha Point, Royal Textile Academy and Museum, Handicrafts Market. Visit Tashichhoe Dzong (outer view) (Fortress of Glorious Religion). Tashichho Dzong houses some ministries, His Majesty’s secretariat, and the central monk body. Folk Heritage Museum, Takin Reserve and Mini Zoo. Later, drive to Sangaygang View Point (2685 meters) to have a view of the whole Thimphu valley and walk through hundreds of colorful prayer flags that dot the hill overlooking the valley Later, return to the hotel. Overnight at a hotel in Thimphu.
DAY 03 – THIMPHU – PUNAKHA VIA DOCHU-LA
Checkout from Thimphu Hotel and proceed to Punakha – a beautiful valley known for its
majestic dzong, history, and landscapes. En Route cover Dochu-La– A mountain pass leading further into the Punakha Valley. It offers a stunning 360 degree panoramic view of Eastern Himalayan mountain ranges. The view is especially scenic on clear, winter days with snowcapped mountains forming a majestic backdrop to the tranquility of the 108 chortens gracing the mountain pass. On arrival at Punakha. Check in at Hotel. Overnight stay at Punakha.
DAY 04 – PUNAKHA – PARO & SIGHTSEEING
After breakfast, check out of your hotel and proceed to Paro. The Paro valley extends from the confluence of the Paro Chhu and the Wang Chhu rivers at Chuzomupto Mt. Jomolhari at the Tibetan border to the North. This picturesque region is one of the widest valleys in the kingdom and is covered in fertile rice fields and has a beautiful, crystalline river meandering down the valley. After checking into your hotel, you would proceed for a sightseeing tour of Paro which would include the following places: Drukgyel Dzong – Ruins of an old fortress in Paro, Kyichu Lhakhang – Famous Monastery in Paro, Chimi Lhakhang, Punakha Dzong, and Royal Botanical Park. Overnight stay in Paro.
DAY 05 – ‘THE ICONIC PILGRIMAGE – TAKTSANG’ – EXCURSION
Embark on the 4 to 5-hour round-trip hike to the famous Paro Taktsang (Tiger’s Nest Monastery) – the iconic Buddhist pilgrimage site of Bhutan, perched on a cliff 900m above the valley. Stop at the halfway cafeteria for views if you prefer a shorter hike. Return to the hotel and relax. Overnight stay at Paro.
DAY 06 – PARO DEPARTURE
On the concluding day of your trip to ‘The Land of Thunder Dragon’, check-out of your hotel post breakfast & proceed to Paro Airport to catch a flight back home.
