DAY 01 – GUWAHATI ARRIVAL – KAZIRANGA
Meet and greet on arrival at Lokapriya Gopinath Bardoloi International Airport / Guwahati Railway Station and transfer to Kaziranga – the home of the “One Horned Rhinoceros”. Check into hotel. Overnight at Kaziranga hotel/resort.
DAY 02 – KAZIRANGA SAFARI
Early morning go for Elephant Safari / Jeep Safari. Return for Breakfast. Later you may go and explore the Orchid And Biodiversity Park. In the evening you may enjoy the cultural program at the same Park. Overnight stay at Kaziranga.
DAY 03 – KAZIRANGA – SHILLONG
After breakfast check out from hotel and proceed towards Shillong. Capital of Meghalaya. Also known as “The Abode of Clouds”, one of the smallest states in India. It is the headquarters of the East Khasi Hills district and is situated at an average altitude of 4,908 feet (1,496 m) above sea level, with the highest point being Shillong Peak at 6,449 feet (1,966 m). En-route visit Mahamrityunjay Temple. It is famous for being the world’s largest Shiva temple in the shape of a lingam. Check in Hotel. Overnight in Shillong.
DAY 04 – SHILLONG – JOWAI & SIGHTSEEING
Start your journey early from Shillong after breakfast, to make the most of the daylight and avoid mist at the viewpoints. Enjoy a pleasant drive to see Mawkdok View Point. Drive to Laitlum Canyon, which means “end of hills” in Khasi. This offers breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding valleys and hills. You can take a short walk along the ridge. Drive to the Krang Suri Waterfall, a picturesque blue cascade located near the town of Amlarem (about 30-32 km from Shnongpdeng). Take the short 15-20 minute trek down a well-laid stone path to the falls. Enjoy the stunning views and swim in the turquoise plunge pool (life jackets are mandatory and available for rent). If time permits visit the nearby Phe Phe Falls (also known as Paradise Waterfall) which is only a few kilometers north of Krang Suri. Proceed to Jowai. Check-in to a pre-booked hotel for overnight stay.
DAY 05 – JOWAI – MAWLYNONG – DAWKI – CHERRAPUNJEE
Start early from Jowai for Mawlynnong. Explore Mawlynnong Village, known as the “Cleanest Village in Asia”. Try & enjoy local Khasi cuisine in the village. Visit the Riwai Living Root Bridge (nearby) and the Balancing Rock. Later Drive to Dawki. It primarily owes its popularity to the breathtaking Umngot River, often called the Dawki River. Known for its crystal-clear waters that mirror the azure sky above, this river is a sight to behold. Later proceed to Cherrapunjee. Check into your hotel in the evening. Overnight stay at Cherrapunjee.
DAY 06 – CHERRAPUNJEE SIGHTSEEING
After an early breakfast proceed to explore Cherrapunjee. The lovely town is famous for its limestone caves like Arwah Cave, Mawsmai Cave. Enjoy some roaring waterfalls leaping into deep gorges – the famed Seven Sisters Water Falls originally known as Nohsngithiang Falls. Watch the Dein-Thlen Falls, Noh-Khalikai Falls. Return to your hotel in the evening. Overnight stay at Cherrapunjee.
DAY 07 – CHERRAPUNJEE – MAWPHLANG – SHILLONG
Check-out of your hotel early and proceed to the Mawphlang Sacred Forest, an ancient grove protected by local Khasi beliefs that forbid taking anything from the forest, not even a single leaf. Continue your journey and stop at Elephant Falls, Known as Ka Kshaid Lai Pateng Khohsiew (Three-Step Waterfall) in Khasi. In the evening drive towards Shillong. You may enjoy rest of the evening at the Police Bazar – the main market place of the city. Overnight stay at Shillong.
DAY 08 – SHILLONG HALF SIGHTSEEING – GUWAHATI
After Breakfast check out of the hotel and visit the local sightseeing places covering Lady Hydi Park, Ward’s Lake, Cathedral of Mary and Polo Ground and then transfer to Guwahati. Evening you may visit the newly built Brahmaputra River Front. Overnight stay at Guwahati.
DAY 09 – GUWAHATI LOCAL SIGHTSEEING
After breakfast visit Maa Kamakhya Temple – a unique temple as it honors the divine feminine’s power of creation without an idol, worshiping a natural, menstruating yoni-shaped stone instead and Umananda Temple – a Shiva temple located on the Umananda Island (Peacock Island) in the middle of the river Brahmaputra – which is known as the smallest inhabited riverine island in the world. Also if time permits you may visit the Navagraha Temple – is an ancient 18th-century hilltop shrine on Chitrachal Hill dedicated to the nine celestial bodies (planets) in Hindu astronomy. Overnight stay in Guwahati.
DAY 10 – GUWAHATI DEPARTURE
After breakfast check out from the hotel and if time permits visit the Purva Tirupati Sri Balaji Temple and then get transfer to Guwahati Airport/ Railway Station for onward journey.
